The summer of waiting.

Come October some of the biggest changes in computers are going to happen. Until then I would recommend not buying a new computer unless of course it’s your only choice. If you can hold out, I think you will be rewarded for your patience. Touchscreens will be the new must-have app. As millions and millions of people have proven by buying tablets, touch is what we want. For the first time a usable touchscreen will be available for Windows users. For the first time a tablet for Windows users will be available. Granted there have been Windows touchscreens available for several years but never with a correctly optimized Windows.

The choices of computers are about to explode come this fall. You will see options including all-in-one touchscreen desktops with 27 inch or larger displays. Notebooks with full touch and rotating screens. Tablets that run the complete Windows software. Tablets that run the new Metro from Microsoft. Tablets with a integrated keyboard. Tablets with a full docking option, that allow for larger screens and standard mouse and keyboards.

One of the main benefits of all of this will be the simplifying of bloated software. Powerful programs such as Office and Photoshop are being rewritten to better take advantage of these new forms. This will allow for much better battery life as these programs will use far less resources. I think these are some of the most exciting times in computer technology and can’t wait for the fall.
