Let me make this very short and simple………NO… If your computer is not specifically designed for Vista getting it to run properly will be a costly and frustrating effort. If you are buying a new computer I still say no if you are a novice or beginning user. And yes only if you know what you are doing.
UPDATE: Vista has been updated with SP1 for several months now and I am very pleased to report that it is a pleasure to work on now. It still needs 2 gig of ram and reasonable new equipment, but all of the bugs are gone and it is actaully faster than XP.
